Public Notes

Who can see: All meeting attendees, plus HR and admins

Public notes are collaborative—both the manager and employee can see and contribute to them during the meeting. They become part of the shared meeting record.

Private Notes

Who can see: Only the person who wrote them

Private notes are visible only to you. Use them for coaching observations, personal reminders, or reflections you don't want to share.

Notes as Data Sources

Public meeting notes are included as data sources when generating AI performance review drafts. Private notes are not.
