Meetings: Track Meetings and Capture Notes

Run effective meetings with structured agendas and notes

Zal.ai's meetings feature supports structured meetings with your team. While recurring 1:1s are the most common use case, you can also use it for team syncs, planning conversations, project check-ins, or performance review discussions.

Two Views: Planner and Notetaker

Click Meetings in the main navigation to see two options:

  • Meeting Planner – View all meetings you've created or been added to as an attendee
  • Meeting Notetaker – Open and document meetings with structured agendas

Meeting Types

Meeting types are templates created by your admins that define a standard structure for particular types of conversations. They include pre-built agendas to guide discussions. Examples include weekly 1:1s, team meetings, or performance review conversations.

Note Types

During meetings, you can capture two types of notes:

  • Public Notes – Visible to everyone in the meeting; collaborated on in real time
  • Private Notes – Visible only to you; useful for coaching observations or personal reminders

How Notes Feed Into Reviews

Public meeting notes become data sources for performance reviews. The AI uses them when generating appraisal drafts, so meaningful 1:1 conversations directly contribute to well-rounded reviews.

Note: Only managers and admins can create meetings. Employees can view meetings they've been added to and capture notes.
