Document conversations using the structured meeting notetaker
When it's time to meet, Zal.ai's meeting notetaker helps you document the conversation using structured agendas. Notes from meetings become data sources for performance reviews.

Opening the Meeting Notetaker
You can access the notetaker in two ways:
- Click the link in your inbox notification
- Navigate to Meetings → Meeting Notetaker
Using the Notetaker
- Click Activate Meeting to begin documenting.
- Follow the agenda structure (created by your admin). Topics typically include wins, progress toward goals, challenges, and next steps.
- Use Public Notes for discussion points, decisions, and action items that both you and your direct report should see.
- Use Private Notes for coaching observations or reminders visible only to you.
- Attach files to your private notes if desired.
- When finished, click End Meeting.
After the Meeting
You'll be redirected to the meeting planner where you can review and edit your notes. You can also revisit notes from past meetings at any time by selecting the meeting and clicking View Meeting Notes.
Note: Public meeting notes are included as data sources in performance reviews, so meaningful conversations directly contribute to well-rounded evaluations.
