# Managers: Approve Goals

## Review and approve goals from your direct reports

When direct reports submit goals for approval, you'll receive a notification. Approving goals promptly keeps momentum moving and allows employees to start tracking progress.

## Approve from Your Inbox

1. Click *Inbox* in the main navigation.
2. Find the notification for the goal submission.
3. Click to open the goal details.
4. Confirm the goal aligns with team and company priorities.
5. Click **Approve Goal**.

## Approve from My Team's Goals

1. Go to *Goals* → *My Team's Goals*.
2. Check the *Employee Overview* tab to see goals awaiting approval.
3. Click on the employee's name to view their goals.
4. Click on the goal in **Pending Approval** status.
5. Review and click **Approve Goal**.

## What Happens After Approval

- The goal status changes from **Pending Approval** to **In Progress**
- The employee receives a notification
- They can now begin logging progress updates
