Add Tasks to an Appraisal Period

Configure data collection tasks for your review cycle

Zal.ai differentiates from other platforms by allowing you to add specific tasks to each appraisal period. This article explains how to configure tasks within a review cycle.

Types of Tasks

  • Self Assessment – Employee reflects on their performance
  • Peer Review – Colleagues provide 360° feedback
  • Upward Review – Direct reports evaluate their manager
  • Downward Review – Manager reviews direct reports
  • Custom Surveys – Additional questionnaires

How to Add Tasks

  1. From ReviewsReview Cycles, open your review cycle.
  2. Go to the Surveys tab.
  3. Enable the tasks you want to include (self assessment, peer review, etc.).
  4. Configure settings for each task:
    • Reminder email frequency
    • Due dates
    • Required vs. optional

Monitoring Task Completion

Track task completion in the Task Progress tab. Send reminders by clicking the info icon and selecting Send Reminders.

Tip: Contact your Zal.ai customer success manager if you need a custom survey type that isn't available.
